For guests wishing to stay in a luxury, rock 'n' roll-themed hotel in the capital of Budapest, this is the obvious choice. Hard Rock Hotel Budapest is located in the Pest area, 1.3km from the River Danube. You’ll be just a short walk from St Stephen’s Basilica, the State Opera House, plus an abundance of theatres, cafes and restaurants.
Your room will have the ultimate music-listening experience with curated Spotify playlists, a turntable and premium acoustic headphones. You’ll also benefit from a coffee machine, minibar and a TV with Chromecast. For a bit of additional space to spread yourself out in, upgrade to the superior or luxury option. Reserve one of the Fender guitars and jam along to your favourite song or join one of the live music sessions. The choice is yours. When it’s time to take a break from the music scene visit the fitness studio or join a yoga session.
For some upscale dining or to rock your favourite cocktail, visit Sessions. It’s open daily from 6am to 11pm. Breakfast is available for up to five hours in the morning, great whether you’re an early bird or a sleepy head. Come back later on for sirloin steak, walnut risotto, scallops, duck breast, seabass and more. Maybe finish off with the Raspberry Champagne Guitar dessert? If you’re avoiding alcohol, the bar has a delicious range of virgin cocktails. Do you love your coffee? If so, your nose will be drawn to Constant Grind, open from 08:30 to late each day for caffeine fixes and light bites.
When you fancy some sightseeing, the world-famous Grand Parliament Building is just over 1km away. Make the 3.7km trip across to Buda for stunning views of the city from the Fisherman's Bastion. Afterwards, don’t miss Buda Castle, hosting over 20,000 art pieces. All three sites are easily accessible using the city’s Metro system.
While there’s loads to see and do in Budapest, if you’re staying for longer there’s an extensive range of day trips available. A one hour train ride takes you to Esztergom, famous for its basilica on the hill, the largest in the country. Alternatively, the cobbled medieval streets of Gyor, close to the Austrian border, are just 75 minutes away.
